The main objective of this research was determination of gold content in rock samples from Abu-Hamed geological Area, north Sudan, For the accurate determination of trace gold in rocks, solvent extraction method (diethyl ether and MIBK) was designed to prevent strong interference and to effectively concentrate gold, atomic absorption spectroscopy technique was used to determine the gold concentrations in collected samples(S1, S2,S3 and S4) which were measured and the Au concentration were found to be (2, 19.5, 30,38.9 ppm) respectively. The lower determination limit (LOD) of gold was found 0.05 ppm.
